In his debut album, Armenian pianist Besalyan plays Rachmaninoff’s Piano Sonata No. 2 and other works, articulating the wistful romanticism with a kind of nostalgic tone. The expressive interpretations of Baghdassaryan’s Preludes and Komitas’ “Spring”, compositions from the pianist’s home country, also deeply touched my heart.
